The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra (SCVSO) serves the region with an inclusive musical experience designed for audiences of all ages. Featuring music from Classics to Cinema, there is something for everyone in our creative programming. The concerts director/conductor Dr. Tjornehoj presents, focus on a balance of old, and new, regional to international, and an occasional presenting of world premieres of living composers. Guest soloists like Irish tenor Anthony Kearns, Minnesota Orchestra trumpet virtuoso Manny Laureano, former St. Paul Chamber Orchestra keyboard artist Layton “Skip” James and retired Metropolitan Opera Singer Margaret Jane Wray name a few of the collaborations for music making of the SCVSO.
Celebrating a unique role of providing a nurturing performance ensemble for people aged 16- 86, musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds and interests gather to share the love of making music. The SCVSO typically presents 7 concerts during each season in a variety of locations. Celebrating over 25 years of providing concerts in the region, the SCVSO is funded on individual donations from people like you. Please join us for the concerts and celebrate our musical collaborations.
